Well it did not go as planned … But first let us thank the people who made it a great run. It is the the people in racing , not the cars, that make racing great! First team manager Loreen , who did an awesome job on the radios all day! Second, reluctant mechanic Mike, whose help in the pits was both unexpected and truly invaluable. Thanks to Sonja and the boys , for both moral and logistical support, and King Kahn for showing up. Finally to the driving team of Bill , Derek and Jeff. Who, despite significant mechanical issue, drove a great race. Never a wheel off in 191 laps, setting fastest time of the day and running consistent laps over and over. Now for the details….. The powered by MOBILeTY BSR Snow leopard , started on pole nursing a valve cover oil leak. However , the car lost the clutch before the first stint was over. After a 17 minute pit stop and falling to dead last it was decided we came to race and the team would continue. By the end of stint 2 BSR was back in the hunt. But another lengthy stop for oil and clutch fix’n ideas again threw the team behind. However, BSR was not the only car with issues and by the start of the final stint was up to 7th. A solid final run pushed the car to 5th for the finish. It was decided by the team to withdraw from day 2 to save what was left of the car. A shout out to SCCA NER for holding the event, we hope for many more. A huge thanks to the SCCA corner workers, without whom we cannot race and who always do a phenomenal job. Thanks Karen and the grid crew for tolerance, it is hard to start a car without a clutch. And to Lou and the gang, the track is great! We will be back!
